                     The most comforting food on a rainy night us homemade dal chawal with some garlic pickle. Whenever I am bored of the regular dal I make this one.  Do try out this recipe and let me know how you like it. 
1. Moong dal half cup 
2. Masoor dal ( orange ) half cup 
3. Turmeric powder 1 tsp 
4. Oil 2 tbsp 
5. Mustard seeds half tsp 
6. Ginger finely chopped 1 tbsp 
7. Onions finely chopped 2 small 
8. Kasoori methi 1 tsp 
9. Tomatoes 2 finely chopped.
10. Coriander seeds powder 1tsp
11. Red chilly powder 2 tsp
12. Lemon 1
13. Ghee 2 tbsp 
14. Cumin seeds 1 tsp 
15. Garlic chopped 15 cloves 
16. Dried red chilly 3 
17. Asafoetida 1 tsp 
18. Curry leaves 2 sprig 
19. Coriander leaves chopped 5 tbsp 
1. Pressure cook dals with turmeric till done. Mash and keep .
2. In a kadhai add oil add mustard seeds with ginger. Fry well.
3. Add onions fry till medium brown add kasuri methi.
4. Add tomatoes fry well add coriander powder and red chilly powder 1 tsp ( other tsp in tadka will add ) 
5. Cook well splashing water so that masala dont burn.
6. Add dals add 2 cups water cook for 15 minutes add salt lemon . 
7. For tadka take small pan add ghee add cumin seeds hing curry leaves red chillies garlic . Fry till aromatic. Pour in dal. Serve after 15 minutes.
